Privacy Policy

Girl Detective · Last Updated: August 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Girl Detective, operated by Mintzi (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles your information. The short version: Girl Detective has no accounts and collects no personal information — only a small amount of anonymous, non-identifying data that helps us fix bugs and improve the game.

Analytics & Diagnostics

To understand how the game is played and to keep it running smoothly, Girl Detective uses two third-party services: PostHog for anonymous product analytics — for example, which screens and features are used and how far players get in the story — and Sentry for crash and error reports. These services may record a randomly generated, anonymous device identifier so we can tell one anonymized session from another. This information is never linked to your name, email, or any account, we have no way to use it to identify you, and it is never sold or used for advertising.

What We Don’t Collect

Aside from the anonymous analytics described above, Girl Detective collects no personal information. Specifically, the app has:

  • No account creation or sign-in
  • No name, email address, or other contact details
  • No advertising or advertising identifiers
  • No access to your contacts, photos, location, camera, or microphone
  • No selling or sharing of your information with third parties

The characters, group chats, phones, photos, and messages in the game are fictional and built into the app. Nothing you see in the game comes from — or goes to — your real phone.

Game Progress

Your game progress (how far you are in the story) is saved in a file stored locally on your device. It never leaves your device. Deleting the app, or choosing “Start over” on the title screen, deletes it.

Purchases

If you purchase the app, that transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details, or any other personal information from the transaction. See apple.com/privacy for how Apple handles that data.

Children’s Privacy

Girl Detective is not directed at children under 13, and its story deals with themes (like infidelity) intended for a more mature audience. The only data the app collects is the anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics described above, which are not tied to any identity — child or adult.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how the app handles information — for example, in a future update — we will update this policy and revise the “Last Updated” date above.
